CPM district secretary P Jayarajan, who has been kept in Kannur Central Prison following his arrest in the Shukkoor murder case, was taken to the Government District Hospital on Saturday also for physiotherapy treatment. P Jayarajan was brought to the hospital from the Central Prison under heavy police protection. He had earlier been examined by the Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, Dr C P Sreedharan and ENT expert D Asarani.
CPM, DYFI men held
As violence and political clashes broke out following the arrest of P Jayarajan in the Shukkoor murder case began subsiding on Saturday, the police started filing cases against those involved in the acts of violence and arresting them. As many as 8 CPM, DYFI workers were arrested by the police in connection with the attack on the Kannur DCC office and the burning of vehicles kept on the office premises on the hartal day.
