J&K sex scandal gains ground in SC
The Supreme Court issued notices to the J&K govt and CBI on petition filed by 13 accused in Srinagar sex scandal case.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Jammu and Kashmir government and CBI on a petition filed by 13 accused in the Srinagar sex scandal seeking transfer of the trial outside the state.

A Bench headed by the Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal also issued notices to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association and the state government on a petition filed by the CBI challenging the August 11 order of the High Court, which was partially stayed by the Apex court on August 18.

The High Court on August 11 had directed CBI to hold custodial interrogation of all public functionaries named by kingpin Sabeena during investigation.
