Calcutta High Court assistant judge Justice Malay Marut Banerjee allegedly enjoyed a special privilege as he went on an elephant safari inside Assam's world famous Kaziranga National Park, which has closed its gates for all tourists from May 1.
Justice Banerjee's son also allegedly assaulted a reporter and cameraperson of a local TV channel covering the safari inside the park at 8 am on May 26. His wife, too, entered into a heated argument and hurled abuses at the journalists.
According to the cameraperson the judge and his son turned hostile when the team was shooting a news item on the park. The incident took place near the elephant safari point at Mihimukh inside the park where Justice Banerjee and his family were taking a elephant ride of the park.
A police complaint has been registered at Kohora Police outpost against the judge's family.
However, Justice Banerjee accused Assam Police of breach of security to a state guest on a personal visit.
