The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is funding anti-Telangana protests across Seemandhra region. They have demanded his removal to restore law and order in the region. Even some Congress leaders from Telangana are also of the same opinion. The TRS chief K Chandrashekhara Rao who is in New Delhi to participate in Parliament session is still non-committal on his party's merger with the Congress.
The YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy's indefinite fast has entered the fifth day on Thursday. Jagan, who has been in jail in connection with the disproportionate assets case, is on a fast opposing the creation of Telangana state. He has refused to take food. His family's visiting rights have been curtailed by the jail authorities for violating prison rules. Rules do not allow any inmate to go on fast.
Karnataka
Former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa led Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) has decided not to merge the party with the BJP. According to some KJP leaders, majority workers are against Yeddyurappa's return to the BJP, which he left 10 months ago. Even though Yeddyurappa is in favour of merger, most of the leaders including his close confidante Shobha Kadandlaje are also opposing the merger. They are threatening to leave the party, if he goes with the BJP.
The Governor of Karnataka HR Bhardwaj said that there was no scam during his tenure as a Union Minister. Bhardwaj, was interacting with the media after releasing a book at the Raj Bhawan in Bangalore. He expressed displeasure over crumbling infrastructure in Bangalore. He admitted that he is a reluctant Governor.
