KOLLAM/KOCHI: A day after the High Court granted bail to the Italian marines, the Kollam District and Sessions Court on Thursday issued a warrant directing the police to produce them before it ahead of the trial in the Enrica Lexie firing case.According to the warrant issued by District and Sessions Judge P D Rajan, the marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone have to be produced before it on Saturday.Even though the bail order has reached the CJM court, the conditions directed by the HC have not been executed by the Italian side. The Italians have to execute a bond of Rs 1 crore each with solvent sureties each for the amount. The marines will also have to surrender their passports.Marines Need Documents to Avoid WarrantThe Borstal School will return the production warrant issued by the Kollam court if the marines complete the procedures for bail by Friday evening. “If the marines are able to produce the documents for getting bail as directed by the High Court by Friday evening, the production warrant would be returned to the Sessions Court,’’ said K Anil Kumar, Superintendent of the Borstal School, Thrikkakara, where the marines are staying.The warrant will be returned as the High Court has already issued bail to the accused. “The Italian officials approached us with the High Court order. Now, as directed by the High Court, the formalities with the Kollam Sessions Court have to be completed for their release. If they come with the release documents before Friday evening, the two will be released on bail. Then they will have to present themselves before the Sessions Court. But if they fail to produce the documents within the time period, we will produce them on Saturday,” Anil said.
