New Delhi: A leopard wandered into a building in the Mahatma Nagar locality in Nashik on Tuesday.
It took the Forest Department officials more than three hours to tranquilise the animal.
The area was cordoned off and people locked themselves inside the building.
This is not the first case of leopards entering highly populated areas in Nashik.
Such incidents are common in the city because sugarcane plantations have taken over what was once a dense forest.
In the last two years over 100 leopards have been trapped after straying into densely populated areas in Maharashtra.
