Literacy a tool aganist tobacco: Collector

KOCHI:  Ernakulam, the fully literate district in the state should use its cent percent literacy rate to achieve the status of a tobacco-free district, District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth has said. He was inaugurating the second phase of tobacco control programme at St Albert’s College here on Friday.    He said that the programmes initiated by the district administration in this regard has been successfully carried out with active participation from the people. The second phase of the tobacco control programme aims at controlling tobacco products. “Shops selling tobacco products in small covers are still active across the state,” he said.
