BELGAUM: Lokayukta police on Saturday caught redhanded Deputy Commissioner of state Excise Department Somashekhar with Rs 9,95,100.
Somashekhar and his driver Rayappa were arrested soon after the former's private car arrived at Hotel Eefa on Club road in the afternoon.Acting on a specific information, the Lokayukta officials were keeping a watch for the past two days.

The amount was kept in a nylon gunny bag in bundles of Rs 10,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 of Rs 500 denomination. Lokayukta officials told reporters that the accused have not disclosed about the money recovered from their possession.
