New Delhi: You can take Renuka Choudhary out of a high-profile ministry, but you can't take high-profile out of the minister.
Shifted to Woman and Child Development, the minister's latest brainchild is giving rural women a makeover with the help of beauty queens.
The new minister for women and child development has finally arrived and its not only the Congress Seva Dal workers who are celebrating.
There are people from all walks of life who want to falicitate Renuka Chowdhery - like the famous fitness expert Vandana Luthra.
"They are into nutrition, they are into health care, they are into obesity which is a disease -- ask me about it. ," grins Renuka Choudhary.
Jokes apart, Renuka is seriously thinking of utilising Vandana Luthra's expertise for women empowerment.
"We are looking at training components for women's employment, so I spoke to Vandana saying why can't you think of taking up training programmes for the district and rural women?" says she.
Vandana Luthra of the Vandana Luthra Curls and Curves fame is pretty confident that she would be able to make a difference to rural India.
"We already have training institutes in Neemrana village to train and empower women there so that they can also have a source of income,"says Vandana.
So as the falicitation continued at the minister's residence, across the road stood Congress Seva Dal workers, the flag bearers of the Congress party, not sure whether Vandana Luthra would be able to bridge this divide.
In the tourism ministry, Renuka Choudhary made news for all sorts of reasons.
Her present assignment may not be as high-profile as the last one but she is never reluctant to speak her mind out on issues unexplored and undiscussed by the women and child development ministry.
