A man was arrested in the Olidih police station area in Jamshedpur after around 20 kgs of ganja was seized from him, police said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted an Ara (Bihar)-bound bus near a petrol pump in Olidih and arrested one passenger identified as Magam Kumar after seizing 15 packets of ganja from him, SP (city), Kathik S said.
Kumar, a resident of Pakri mohalla under Ara in Bihar's Bhojpur district, has procured the narcotics from Bhubaneswar and was carrying it to his home town to sell, Karthik said.
Around 150 kgs of ganja, which was being carried from Odisha to various parts of the country, had been seized by local police over a period of six months and arrested some persons indulged in the illegal trade, he said.
The district police was in touch with their Odisha counterpart to nab the local links there.
