BANGALORE: The sleuths of the special enquiry squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested a man for allegedly duping women by offering jobs at Metro Cash and Carry located at Yeshwantpur.The accused has been identified as Ravindra B Shetty (33), a resident of Bandeppa Garden at Muthyalanagar in Mathikere. He allegedly claimed that he was the HR Manager of Metro and conned the women.According to the police, the accused used to collect the phone numbers of women who gave advertisement in Free Ads magazine. Later, he called them and introduced himself at HR Manager of the Metro Cash and Carry and if they showed interest, he used to conduct telephonic interviews. He was making them believe that they were appointed for jobs with good salaries and also dispatched fake offer letters to their email addresses. Subsequently, he was also asking them to credit some money to his bank account as security deposit and other expenses.“After the money was credited to his account, he used to change his mobile phone number. He has used more than 10 SIMs to cheat people. The victims have filed cases against him in Kamakshipalya, Basaveshwaranagar and other police stations,” the police, who have seized a mobile phone from the accused, added. They have also asked the public to approach CCB sleuths if they are cheated in similar ways.
