VISAKHAPATNAM: In yet another incident of attack on women in the city, a husband slit the throat of his wife inside the Malakapuram police station while she was filing a complaint against him for dowry harassment on Sunday evening. Her condition was stated to be critical.According to the Police, the accused, A Robin Moses married his girlfriend Sabita Patnaik two years back against the wishes of her parents. But soon after the marriage, Moses pestered Sabita to get dowry from her parents. As she did not relent to his demand, Moses started torturing her. With this, Sabita approached Malkapuram police in December, 2010. The police counselled Moses and sent the couple back without registering a case. Three months back, Sabita gave birth to a baby boy at her parents’ house and came to her husband’s house a few days back. This time also Moses continued to harass her for dowry. Sabita along with her child went back to her parents’s house. Yesterday, Moses went to the house of Sabita’s parents and engaged in heated arguments with them.When, Sabita informed Malakapuram police, the latter suggested her to lodge a complaint againt Moses. At around 7.30 pm today Sabita had gone to the station to lodge the complaint. While Sabita was filing the complaint, Moses slit her throat with a knife.
