HYDERABAD: A day after a PhD student from Karnataka was found dead in the BITS, Pilani campus in the city, a student from Manipur reportedly fell to death from the second floor of a hostel in the Agriculture College of the Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University at Rajendranagar late on Thursday night.The youngster from Manipur was part of a group of students who came to the city on an education tour.A third year BSc student of the Central Agricultural University in Manipur, the deceased, Lallungh Nena Chaku Chhuak (23), hailed from Imphal.According to Rajendranagar police sub-inspector Ramesh, Chaku along with 40 other students was on an all-India education tour.They came to the city on July 19 for a four-day tour and had been staying in the guest house of the university. They were supposed to leave for Coimbatore on Saturday.Police said the students visited various agriculturalrelated institutes, including the Directorate of Rice Research (DRR), NAARM and ICRISAT on Thursday and returned to the university late in the night.“Four students, including Chaku went to the second floor of the Farmer’s Hostel to have a party late in the night. Chaku sat on the railing and was chatting with his friends when he lost his balance and fell down to the ground,” police said.The Farmer’s Hostel is used to accommodate farmers visiting the campus on study tours.
