KOCHI: As part of the Vodafone Foundation’s Mobile for Good initiative, the foundation in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation has announced a project to provide learning solutions for more than 50,000 underprivileged children across the country.In a press release issued on Friday, the foundation said that they have committed `140 million to materialise the initiative across 1000 schools in the country in the coming three years. A successful pilot project has been conducted in schools across Karnataka. Now, they are planning to replicate the project in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Delhi.The project uses innovative software. The project enables teachers to improve the classroom experience with graphical and multimedia content coupled with innovative methods of teaching. Students get to explore learning through internet in an interactive and engaging manner.“The foundation in association with Pratham will enable the use of this unique learning platform in 1000 schools across India. Through technology and expertise, we can improve learning prospects for children and enable teachers,” said Laura Turkington, director, Vodafone India Foundation.
