15:19 PM: Narendra Modi has reached Nalanda. The Gujarat chief minister is meeting family members of the blasts victims here. Interestingly, Nalanda is the home turf of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.

10: 25 AM: After visiting blast victim's family in Gaurichak, the Gujarat Chief Minister left for Kaimur where he is scheduled to meet the family of another victim.

10:08 AM: Gujarat police has said that it is monitoring Modi's security in Bihar. More than 1000 Special Task Force officers are present at each of the six locations. More than 100 inspector-ranked officers and 15 DGPs will also be part of the security. IB alert has been issued for Modi's visit.

BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi reached Patna on Friday night. He is visiting the city for the second time in a week to meet the families of the six serial blasts' victims in different districts on Saturday, a party leader said on Friday.

Modi took a chartered plane from Pune and reached Patna at 11 pm on Friday. He is staying at the VVIP guest house as a state guest, BJP national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan told reporters.

He boarded a helicopter on Saturday morning to visit the native villages of all six Patna serial blasts victims in Patna, Kaimur, Gopalganj, Supaul, Begusarai and Nalanda districts, Pradhan said.

Incidentally, Nalanda is the native district of Modi's Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar.

Modi will meet the grieving families to express his personal condolences to them for the death of their kins in the serial blasts during BJP's 'Hunkar Rally' in the state capital on October 27 last, and will hand over a cheque of Rs five lakh to the families, he said.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitsh Kumar has hit out at his former ally, the BJP, saying that the saffron party has given a communal tone to the recent Patna blasts. "The BJP is trying to raise communal tensions in Bihar, but the state is committed to maintain communal harmony. The people of Bihar have rejected the BJP's brand of communal politics and I have full faith that they will do the same in the future," Nitish said referring to BJP's 'Shaheed Asthi Yatras'. BJP has said it will hold 'Shaheed Asthi Yatras' on Friday to pay respect to those killed in the blasts.
