Mother kills son for bid to rape her

A 50-year-old mother smashed the head of her alcoholic son

with a wooden pestle and dumped the body in septic tank when he reportedly

tried to rape her at Pothugallu village in Mogllapalli mandal of the district

on August 15. However, the incident came to light only on Friday when the

locals informed the police.According to Chityala circle inspector P Sadaiah, P Ramesh

(30) of Pothugallu village was addicted to alcohol and used to torture his wife

because of which she left for her parents’ house three months ago. On August

15, he tried to sexually assault his mother Komuramma when she was alone in the

house in an inebriated condition. Komuramma tried her best to counsel and avoid

him but to no avail.In a fit of rage, she smashed Ramesh’s head with a wooden

pestle killing him instantaneously. She informed the matter to her husband

Veeramallu and elder son Kumaraswamy when the duo reached home. Fearing

disrepute in society, Komuramma and Veeramallu dumped Ramesh’s body in the

septic tank of their house. The locals grew suspicious with stench emanating by the day

from the septic tank and informed the police, who fished out the decomposed

body. Komuramma and Veeramallu surrendered before the cops. A post-mortem would

be conduct on Saturday.
