A Mumbai court has allowed the police to try David Coleman Headley in connection with the 2008 Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks. A plea by the Mumbai Police had sought the trial of Headley along with arrested Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Jundal.

The court also issued summons in this regard, scheduling the next hearing on December 10. The judicial process in this regard will go through the Ministry of External Affairs.

Pakistani American LeT terrorist David Coleman Headley is currently serving 35 years in prison in USA for his role in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

In a memoir written by him while being in prison, Headley had said that for the terror attack on Mumbai, the plan was to capture an Indian fishing vessel that would not raise alarm with the Indian Coast Guard as it transported the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists to Mumbai's shores.

"The plan was to capture an Indian fishing vessel, which constantly strayed into Pakistani waters, and commandeer it all the way to Mumbai. The hope was that the Indian Coast Guard would not notice an Indian vessel. The boys would carry a GPS device which would guide them directly to the landing site, I had selected earlier," he wrote.
