Mumbai Police Receives Call Threatening To Blow Up Airport, Taj Hotel

Mumbai Police control room on Monday received a call that bombs had been placed at the Taj Hotel and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in the city, police informed. The call was received at around 11 am.

Following the call, the police conducted search at the locations but nothing suspicious was found. However, an FIR has been registered in the matter.

The police said that the call originated from Uttar Pradesh and a search for the caller is underway.

The treat call was made a day after tensions prevailed at Chennai airport after a bomb threat was received in the wee hours of Sunday. Following the email, security was beefed up at the airport. However, the email later turned out to be a hoax.

Notably, the frequency of threat calls have been increased in recent days. A few days ago, a panic situation was created in the national capital after multiple schools across Delhi-NCR received bomb threats via email.

The emails were received by dozens of schools creating widespread terror among the Delhiites. The schools were later shut down for the day and the students were sent home.
