Need for foreign varsities

HYDERABAD:  The need to bolster higher education infrastructure, to accommodate an increasing number of youngsters, in partnership with foreign universities was reiterated at the curtain raiser to the Indo-Global Education Summit-2012, in September this year. Citing the low gross enrollment ratio in the field of higher education and low employability of the graduates, educators and representatives of the state government stressed the need for enhanced skill development among the youth. “Of the 600 odd engineering colleges in the state, only 15 per cent of the graduates are employable.” This was stated by higher and technical education minister, C Damodar Rajanarasimha here on Tuesday.
