MADURAI: ‘Good Vision’, a Kanyakumari-based non-governmental organisation, has moved the HC Bench challenging the Home Ministry’s order prohibiting the organisation from receiving foreign contribution, for its alleged involvement in the anti-KKNPP agitation. Justice R Subbiah, on hearing the contentions of the petitioner, directed the counsel appearing on behalf of the Centre to get instructions from the Home Ministry. In a civil miscellaneous petition, T Mano Thangaraj, director of ‘Good Vision’ termed the order illegal and said that it would “defame and discredit him in the eyes of the public and his bankers”. The petitioner is also the convener of the political wing of PMANE.Mano Thangaraj told the court through his counsels G Prabhu Rajadurai and N Muthukani that his personal opinion against the installation of nuclear reactors would have no influence on his organisation. “My opinion and involvement in the anti-KKNPP campaign will not have any connection with the activities of the Trust,” he told the court. The petitioner further stated that there was no material to show that any of the funds received by the organisation were diverted for the campaign. The case was posted for further hearing on March 30.
