New Delhi: NIA officer Tanzil Ahmed's wife Farzana - who was battling for her life with bullet injuries - died in AIIMS on Wednesday morning.
On April 3, Tanzil was gunned down by assailants in Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, while his wife received multiple bullets injuries.
The incident took place when they along with their children were returning home from a wedding ceremony in Bijnor.
On Monday Farzana's condition started deteriorating and she was shifted from Fortis Hospital in Noida to AIIMS in Delhi. She succumbed to her injuries at around 11 am on Wednesday.
On Tuesday UP Police claimed to have solved the case of Tanzil Ahmed by arresting two persons and claimed that domestic dispute was the motive behind the crime.
Among the two arrested is the nephew of Ahmed's brother-in-law Rehan, Inspector General of Police (Bareilly Zone) Vijay Kumar Meena said.
