New Delhi: There seems to be no confirmation that Pakistan is amassing troops along the border with India, despite Pakistani media constantly reporting that forces are being moved away from the Afghanistan border.
Some media reports had earlier claimed that nearly 20,000 soldiers were being moved to the Indian border.
United States of America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is also not clear about Pakistan moving soldiers to the eastern border.
CIA is trying to find if the movement is taking place because Pakistani Army high command really fears an Indian attack or is it by threatening war Islamabad hopes to deflect the heat from the diplomatic pressure to crackdown on terror.
Reports in the Pakistani media have warned that war would be economically disastrous for the country and would give new life to separatist forces especially in the tribal areas bordering Pakistan and Baluchistan.
