In a horrific road accident, two people were left severely injured after a car dragged a two-wheeler for around one kilometre in Bhubaneswar’s Patia. The mishap occurred on Wednesday night.

According to the information, the car suddenly rammed into a scooter and the driver of the two-wheeler fell on the ground. He received injuries and was soon rushed to the hospital.

The car reportedly hit another person before ramming into the scooter, who has also been admitted to the hospital.

As per the video of the incident, which went viral on social media, a car bearing an Uttar Pradesh registration number, could be seen dragging the two-wheeler.

The car continued to drive for around 1 km towards Nandankanan, dragging the scooter along with it, the video clip shows.

Passers-by and locals tried to go behind the four-wheeler in a bid to stop the car, but the driver didn’t stop and continued to drag the scooter.

The inspector-in-charge of Infocity Police Station in Patia told The India Today that the car driver had been identified, and appropriate action would be taken against him. Further investigation is on, police said.

Meanwhile, in another such incident, four students were killed and eight others sustained injuries when the school bus they were travelling in collided with a tractor near Alagur village in Jamkhandi taluk of this district on Monday.

Police said the students of Vardhaman Mahaveer Educational Society at Alagur aged between 13 and 17 were returning from Kavatagi village when the mishap happened.
