New Delhi: Eight years ago on March 21, 2006, Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, posted the first ever tweet. "just setting up my twttr," read the tweet from @jack. As the microblogging service that has redefined global communication and expression turns eight, it is allowing users to discover their (or any other user's, unless, of course, it is a protected account) first tweet.

"Millions of prolific tweeters have made Twitter an exciting, fun and powerful place to connect with others. But each of you had to start somewhere: Today we're taking a look at some choice first Tweets - first Tweets that sparked a conversation, used imagery to tell a story, or revealed unfiltered self expression," Twitter said in a blog post making the announcement.

The first tweet tool is available at first-tweets.com. @ibnlive's first tweet is from June 2, 2007. In fact, @twitter posted its first tweet more and a month after @ibnlive. "working on iphones via 'hahlo' and 'pocket tweets' - fun!," the tweet from July 12, 2007 says.

Twitter is celebrating 8 years since the first tweet with the hashtag #FirstTweet. What's your first tweet? Let us know in the comments.
