Islamabad: One person was killed and three others were injured when a police van was targeted with a roadside bomb in northwest Pakistan on Thursday, officials said.
The incident occurred in Jahangira area of Nowshera district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
The bomb was triggered by remote control, district police chief Imtiaz Khan said.
A passer-by was killed instantly while two policemen and a child were injured, he said.
The police vehicle was damaged.
A large contingent of police cordoned off the site after the blast and launched a search operation in the area.
