HYDERABAD: The state government on Wednesday gave financial clearance for filling up of 1.04 lakh vacant posts in various departments for which notification will be issued soon. Speaking on the first day of the two-day District Collectors conference at the Jubilee hall on Wednesday, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said the government was committed to filling up all vacancies at the earliest. “Reservations for SC/STs, BCs and minorities would be observed for selection to 15 lakh jobs under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu,” he said.He also asked all district collectors should give equal priority to welfare as well as development. He expressed dissatisfaction over distribution of identification to tenant farmers and said only 5.7 lakhs identification cards had been issued in respect of 26 lakh farmers in the state. He advised them to see all tenant farmers get the cards. Kiran Reddy instructed all collectors to conduct regular meetings with power officials for ensuring seven hours power to farmers. He also instructed collectors to conduct meetings with water regulatory boards and see how much water is being supplied to fields. He said there was variation in irrigation officials calculation and field level calculations. The chief minister asked collectors to make enumeration in drought-affected areas. He asked them to take steps to achieve the target of Rs 7,700 crore loans to farmers during rabi season.He asked officials to complete 6.59 lakh houses under Indiramma housing scheme by end of March next year. The state government has also decided to provide interest-free crop loans to farmers and Self-Help Groups from January 1. Kiran Reddy asked collectors to take steps to open ‘no frills accounts’ on the names of farmers who do not have bank accounts. The government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for shifting high tension power lines which are passing through residential colonies.
