A local court has dismissed a revision petition against Narayan Sai, the son of disgraced spiritual guru Asaram Bapu, seeking action for masquerading as a Sikh when he was arrested last year, and thereby "hurting the religious sentiments".
The petition, filed by Yuva Sikh Morcha's Gandeep Singh Bhatia here, was dismissed on Tuesday by Additional Sessions Judge AK Paliwal. The court held the petition to be "totally baseless and without any substance". Earlier, the judicial magistrate, on February 22, had dismissed the petition.
The petition said that Sai, a rape accused, hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by trying to disguise himself as a Sikh by wearing a turban when the police arrested him in Haryana in December 2013.
