PIL on speed breakers referred to Division Bench

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday referred a petition seeking a directive to remove the speed breakers on the national highways and PWD roads in the state, to a Division Bench hearing the Public Interest Litigations (PIL).Justice P N Ravindran issued the directive while considering a petition filed by Mohanan Pillai of Alappuzha alleging that speed breakers cause obstruction to the free flow of traffic.He further added that the speed breakers are placed in roads in an irresponsible manner. He said that the police have placed huge hoardings as speed breakers across highways and other roads. The speed breaker of more than five feet height, obstructs the vision of the drivers.
