NELLORE: Both Congress and TDP are conspiring to eliminate his family politically, YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said here on Monday.Campaigning at Kodavaluru for N Prasanna Kumar Reddy, his party’s candidate for Kovur bypoll, Jagan Mohan Reddy said his father the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had rendered great service to Congress and was responsible for that party coming to power in the state twice, in 2004 and 2009.But Congress leadership has disgraced his memory by neglecting welfare schemes like 108 service, Arogyasri, free power to farmers etc. “My father had the interests of farmers at heart, but today Congress is neglecting the farming community,” he said. It is high time people changed the government, he added.Jagan Mohan Reddy said TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had no moral right to criticise him, as it was his nine-year rule that caused serious problems to the farming community.Defending his leaving Congress and floating a new political party, Jagan said it was inevitable as both Congress and TDP were neglecting people.He found fault with the government for splitting the byelections--seven seats first and 17 later. Congress may be thinking of defeating me the second time, if not the first, he quipped. He urged people to vote for Prasanna Kumar Reddy. Former Nellore MP M Rajamohan Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
