Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Thursday for a two-day visit. He is set to take part in a World Yoga Day event to be held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC).
This will be PM Modi’s first Kashmir visit after the Lok Sabha polls. Ahead of his visit, Srinagar has been declared a ‘Temporary Red Zone’ for drone and quadcopter operations.
The Srinagar Police has issued orders declaring the city a ‘Temporary Red Zone’ for the operation of drones and quadcopters. In the order, police stated, “Srinagar city has been declared a “Temporary Red Zone” for the operation of drones and quadcopters as per the provisions of Rule 24(2) of Drone Rules, 2021, with immediate effect.
“The statement said that all unauthorised drone operations in the Red Zone are liable to be penalised as per relevant provisions of Drone Rules, 2021. As responsible citizens, your cooperation is solicited in this regard, it added.
9,000 people to take part in Srinagar Yoga event
BJP leader Jitendra Singh, who got a rousing reception on his arrival in Jammu capital city after becoming Union minister for the third consecutive time, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in an event in Srinagar in which almost 9,000 people will perform yoga with him on June 21.
“On 21st June, PM Modi will participate in a yoga event in Srinagar in which almost 9,000 people will perform yoga with him…”, Singh told reporters here.
He further said there is a plan to connect all the 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir virtually.
“Even if 2,000 people get connected from every district, almost 50,000 people will get connected virtually from J&K. This will have a statewide impact”, Singh said.
He said it is a matter of pride for all that such a major yoga event is being organised at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
In his address at a programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) here to telecast Modi’s virtual grant of fresh instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Singh said there is a certain pattern of continuity with deep commitment and conviction.
