Police flayed for violation of customs

SABARIMALA: Hindu Aikyavedi general secretary Kummanam Rajasekharan has flayed the police authorities for the violation of the customs and practices of the Sabarimala temple .Kummanam Rajasekharan, in a statement, said that instead of protecting and upholding the practice of not allowing women in the restricted age (10 to 50 years) to Sabarimala from Pampa, the police themselves deployed women constables in the restricted age group on escort duty in Sabarimala. He said that the authorities should initiate action against the guilty. Kummanam said that police should respect the religious sentiments of the pilgrims while undertaking their duty of crowd management.
