Politicians, celebrities react to tragic Kerala temple fire
Leaders cutting across various political parties and celebrities have expressed solidarity over the loss of life and prayed for the speedy recovery of injured.

A huge fire broke out in the Puttingal temple in Kerala's Kollam district on Sunday morning leaving at least 86 people dead and more than 300 injured. According to the police, the fire broke out at around 3:30 AM after blast in the fireworks stockpile kept in a store for temple celebrations. The rescue operations are reportedly over and the injured are being treated at nearby hospitals.

Reactions on the tragic incident have been pouring in since morning. Leaders cutting across various political parties and celebrities have expressed solidarity over the loss of life in the incident and prayed for the speedy recovery of injured.

"Fire at temple in Kollam is heart-rending & shocking beyond words. My thoughts are with families of the deceased & prayers with the injured," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in tweet.

He is also going to the incident site to take stock of the situation.

"The news of major fire at Puttingal temple in Kollam is deeply distressing. Extremely pained over the loss of lives in the accident," tweeted Home Minister Rajnath Singh

"Very sad to hear such tragic news. Prayers with all victims," tweeted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

"My deepest condolences to families of the victims affected by the temple fire tragedy in Kollam. Pray for immediate respite of the injured," NCP leader Praful Patel tweeted.

"Deeply shocked & saddened by the loss of so many precious lives in a massive fire tragedy at a temple in Kollam district of Kerala," MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said in a tweet.

"Sad to hear about the fire in a temple in Kollam, Kerala. My heartfelt condolences to the families for d loss of their dear ones," actor Anupam Kher tweeted.

"Sad visuals of the fire breaking out at the Kollam Temple. Heart goes out to the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy," said actor Ritesh Deshmukh
