Prashant Bhushan attackers granted bail
Tejinder Singh Bagga, Vishnu Gupta and Inder Verma were on Thursday remanded to one day in judicial custody.

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday granted bail to three persons arrested for allegedly assaulting senior lawyer and Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan in his Supreme Court chamber on Wednesday.

The three accused - Tejinder Singh Bagga, Vishnu Gupta and Inder Verma - were produced in the court on Thursday and remanded to one day in judicial custody.

The group they belong to, the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena was involved in another scuffle with Anna supporters on Thursday. The incident at the Patiala House court took place shortly after Tejinder Singh Bagga and Vishnu Gupta, the two others involved in the attack on Bhushan, courted arrest.

The incident has raised questions about the lack of security especially outside the Capital's courts.

Bagga, one of the three youths who attacked senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan on Wednesday has been actively involved with the BJP's youth wing for nearly two years, even though the party now denies the link.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani said, "I condemn any kind of extremist act and I don't think this person had any relation with Sangh Pariwar."

Bagga told CNN-IBN that the decision to attack Bhushan was their own and that he was once a member of BJP's youth wing.

Son of a garment retailer, Bagga left BJP a-year-and-half back to set up the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena. His name has cropped up in attacks on Kashmiri separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani and social activist and author Arundhati Roy as well. Even as their home in West Delhi doubled up as Kranti Sena's headquarters, Bagga's parents admit their son's methods were wrong.

"What he did was not right. If you do not agree with someone there is a proper way of opposing them," said Bagga's father.
