Pravin Togadia to Share Stage With Yashwant Sinha, Shatrughan in Mandsaur

Mandsaur: Former Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Praveen Togadia will share the stage with ex-Union minister Yashwant Sinha and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur on June 8 to condole the deaths of farmers in police firing last year.

Shivkumar Sharma 'Kakkaji', president of the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh (RKMM) that is organising the condolence meet, on Monday confirmed that the three leaders were visiting Mandsaur on their invitation. He added that the organisation had planned the event for June 6 but had to postpone it as the administration did not grant them permission in time.

Firebrand Hindutva leader Togadia was axed from the VHP and replaced by V Kokje in April this year. Soon after, he had vowed to continue his fight for Hindus, the youth, workers and farmers. Yashwant Sinha recently formed the Rashtra Manch — a social-political action group — and has been a vocal critic of the BJP, especially the policies of the Narendra Modi government. Actor-turned-politician and Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha too has been at loggerheads with his party.

Several political leaders are expected to make a beeline for Mandsaur to mark the anniversary of the farmers’ agitation.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is set to address a public rally on June 6. Besides senior party leaders from the state, veterans from New Delhi are also expected to attend the rally that will mark Gandhi's poll campaign in Madhya Pradesh.

Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel will also reach Mandsaur on June 11 to inaugurate the state office of the Kisan Kranti Sena, which is headed by Patidar community head Mahendra Patidar.

The RKMM president said if their demands were not met, they would hold a core committee meeting in Bhopal on June 14.
