BANGALORE: In an effort to recognize the services of private security personnel, the Karnataka Security Services Association (KSSA), for the first time will observe August 21 as the ‘Private Security Day’ in the state. This is the first-of-its-kind initiative held by any agency or association in the country. Addressing the media on Wednesday, K P Nagesh, president, KSSA said, “There is Armed Forces Day and the National Fire Services Day. But the private security sector, which is one of the largest employers in the nation has no particular day dedicated in honour of the security personnel.” We are requesting the government to build training centres in Bangalore, Mysore and Belgaum cities. We are also planning to introduce uniforms for security personnel like the police and the air force, Nagesh said.To mark the day, the KSSA will organise  procession on August 21 at 9.30 am from Town Hall.
