Probe Pillais role, says Pinarayi Vijayan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said R Balakrishna Pillai’s role in the attack had to be investigated. CPI state secretary C K Chandrappan said the only fault of Krishnakumar and his wife Geetha was that they were not willing to remain as Pillai’s slaves.  Pillai had responded to media queries over the cell phone from his hospital bed on Thursday denying his involvement in the attack.Kottarakara MLA M Aysha Potti demanded that Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar should be kept away from the UDF Ministry till the probe was over, since his role in the attack was  suspicious.Reacting to Pillai’s telephonic talk, Chandy said if he had done so, it was illegal. “I haven’t heard of it. But if there was any such talk, it is illegal,” he said.‘’It was the media which made him speak. Now you ask for comments on it also,” he said.  Meanwhile, attempts to elicit a police statement from Krishnakumar failed, as the doctor attending to him said that he was still unconscious. Magistrate A A Ashraf was deputed by the Chief Magistrate’s Court for the exercise on a plea filed by the Kottarakara police inspector.
