Problem! Solving or Creating?
Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google NewsHey! Are you moving to your office....or home? Going some where......or coming from? Transport problem? No problem in the city and surroundings. The government has facilitated us with the public transport and of course we use it very well. (usually services are bad and at times worst). BUT, what about the idea of moving somewhere in a CAB. AMAZED! It is true, you can have a cab to a particular point with in the charges of local transport. These cabs are neither facilitated by central nor by state govt. These are the cabs which are bound to Pick or Drop the staff of some call center or any company and are associated with transporters. None of the transporter is able to keep an eye on the cabs. Now where the money goes that cab driver charges? Yes.... it is in the pocket of Driver Saab. I have talked to no of people who uses office picks and drops, there is common problem they are facing, "cab never comes on time for pickup". The driver's reply on this is very simple Traffic Jams. BUT the reality is a bit different.

Two months ago after leaving office at around 3.15p.m. I went to Rajnigandha chowk to take a bus. There I saw a number of cabs were parked along the bus stand. And some of the drivers even shouting, "dhaula kuan, AIIMS, south-ex "etc. We were 4 at that time for Rohini side. We asked a cab driver that after Dhaula kuan where is he going for pick up? The answer is Rohini. That answer gave a smile on the faces of all. Now about charges...... he says Rs. 20/- per person till Rohini. Every body is ready to pay. During our journey Neelish asked him whether the cab goes daily for pick-up on the same route and time? The answer is YES. That is a big day for us. Then Neelish noted the mobile no. of driver Saab. The Driver says he will come in front of our office for pick-up if we become 6. But that's not possible, we have to go to Rajnigandha Chowk for that particular cab. I reached home half an hour earlier than other days. Next day when I asked my colleagues they all are happy that they reached earlier.

There is one more incident when I tried for the cab in odd hours.
One night I am coming back to my place from Jaipur. The roadways bus left us at Dhaula Kuan at around 12.30 a.m. Before we can look for auto suddenly a running voice from roadside crosses my ears, "Burtania ,Wajir pur, Maduban Chok, Rohni......" as I turned my neck I saw a brand new TATA SUMO was parked and the driver was shouting for commuters of those particular places. I asked him about the charges he says Rs 15/- per person till Maduban chok. I bargained with him, he refuses. Then suddenly two more cabs parked behind that Sumo, then he agrees for Rs.10/- PP for Madhuban Chowk (other cabs are also for that route and Competition is there). We reached home in those odd hours with out any problem of transport and without paying any extra night charges.

One thing I realised later that these cabs are solving our problem but ARE THESE CABs ARE SAFE? Now that's a big question mark on this issue. Some says, "raat ke waqt ghar jane ke liye gaadi mil jaye aur kya chahiye". One man says, "safety ka kya kahen majboori ka souda hai" and "jab 10 rupe mein gaadi mil rahi hai to bus mein 12 kyo doon"? Recently there are no. incidents of misbehavior and sexual harassment with female staff by these cab drivers but commuters still using these cabs including ME. first published:April 05, 2006, 17:54 ISTlast updated:April 05, 2006, 17:54 IST
