JIPMER Protection Committee (JPC) which is agitating against the levy of user charges by JIPMER would be protesting against the administration on September 13 over the constitution of a Joint Action Committee for Protection of JIPMER.
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by representatives of political parties, associations from Cuddalore, Villupuram, Karaikal and Puducherry on Sunday, convenor of JPC T Murugan told mediapersons.
The committee would also agitate against outsourcing of daily rated staff while the matter is pending before the High Court.
The committee added that they would wait for a response from the director of JIPMER to the memorandum they had submitted on September 6 after discussions with the administration.
In view of the scathing criticism the institution had come under following the suicide of a daily rated labourer on September 5, the JIPMER had formed a Joint Action Committee for Protection of JIPMER, comprising JIPMER Faculty Association (JFA), Resident Doctors Association (RDA) and JIPMER Students Association (JSA) on Saturday.
