THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sree Chattambi Swami Samskarika Samithi has called upon the government to postpone the school examinations scheduled on the Attukal Pongala day on March 7 and the day before.Samithi president S R Krishna Kumar and secretary Manakkad Ramachandran said here on Tuesday that in the past, the governments had announced local holiday in connection with the Pongala, as the city would come to a standstill following the heavy inflow of devotees.“The official stand to conduct the exams at the Government and CBSE schools is a challenge to the government decision of declaring holiday for Pongala,” they said. They said that even the government calendar had notified a holiday for Attukal Pongala. They requested the Chief Minister and the Education Minister to postpone the examinations on these days.
