Purchase power from private firms

MYSORE: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah has urged the state government to purchase power from private companies and neighboring states to reduce load shedding in the state.He accused Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and Energy Minister Shobha Karanadlaje of failing to handle the crisis due to their lack of experience.“Farmers who were getting three hours 3-phase power now have only one hour of power for running irrigation pumpsets.” He said the government must not blame the Telangana stir for the current situation.The government should have tapped unconventional energy production starting wind mills and smaller hydel power generations units, he felt.
