VELLORE: The South Indian Purohits Association, Arcot, hailed the announcement made by the Chief Minister regarding spiritual education sessions for children in temples. In a statement, general secretary of the association, S Narasimha Iyer said that the CM’s gesture of providing spiritual and moral education along with food to children in temples on Saturdays to encourage them to evolve as good human beings would greatly benefit the younger generation. While thanking the CM for the announcement, Narasimha Iyer pointed out that such practical education was necessary and would be welcomed by all those who believed in spirituality and humanism. “Taking cue from the great leaders, spiritual and moral education would certainly mould our younger generation and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s gesture would pave for a humanistic society in the long run,” he pointed out.
