A railway employee was beaten to death by unidentified assailants on Wednesday night at Asikpur Mohalla in Bihar's Munger district, police said on Thursday.
The employee was identified as Toophani Mandal, a resident of Surajgarha of Lakhisarai district.
The incident occurred in an area under Jamalpur police station area near railway bridge no.211 when some assailants lynched him, Superintendent of police Navin Chandra Jha said. The body was sent for postmortem. Efforts were on to nab the culprits.
