Raja Bhaiyya acquitted in POTA case
The POTA special court has acquitted Raja Bhaiyya and his brother but convicted his father Uday Pratap Singh.

Jabalpur:The Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) special court on Friday acquitted Uttar Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya and his parliamentarian brother Akshay Pratap Singh, but convicted his father Uday Pratap Singh.

Special Judge R C Mishra, who delivered the judgement in Jabalpur, found the main accused Uday Pratap Singh guilty of keeping weapons, including prohibited ones, in his possession.

The court also upheld the Uttar Pradesh government decision to frame a POTA case against him.

The argument on the quantum of punishment to the convict is scheduled later on Friday.

The POTA case against Raja Bhaiyya and two others was transferred to Madhya Pradesh from Uttar Pradesh in November 2005 on the directive of the Supreme Court.

The SC revoked the UP government decision to withdraw the POTA case against the trio after Mulayam Singh Yadav became the Chief Minister.
