Ramp Buzz: Trend tips | Wendell waltz
Day Two at the Lakme Fashion Week was all about the return of the crochet and designer Wendell Rodricks' theme for his collection.

Mumbai: At the first day of the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, CNN-IBN Correspondent Neha Sachar went trend scouting and found nothing that matched international runway drifts but one peek-a-boo thing - crochet.

Now you see it, now you don't. But one of course saw it almost everywhere. Gucci has done it, so has Prada and it was all over the runways of Milan earlier this year. Now it's in India.

Corsets, pants, skirts, trimmings on skirts, bags and even umbrellas. As separates or embellishments - crochet almost ruled the ramp.

So our advice, it's time you dug out that pretty pink crochet top that you tucked at the bottom of your cupboard. This grandma trend is back with a bang.

Mumbai: At the Lakme Fashion Week, Wendell Rodricks is the man to look out for. The man has pulled out the celebrities from his list to walk the ramp after Tuesday's Bollywood hangover. CNN-IBN Correspondent Hindol Sengupta asked the designer about the theme of his latest collection.

"My collection is called Isadora in India. Isadora Duncan was a pioneer of modern dance. A wonderfully free-spirited lady who never came to India," Rodricks said.

In a Greek chiton, Duncan was famous for dancing barefoot. Breaking with convention, Duncan was the first American dancer to de-emphasize scenery and costumes in favour of a simple stage setting and simple costumes. By doing this, Duncan suggested that watching a dancer dance was enough.

Taking a cue from her ideology, Rodricks said, "She converted the ballet form into a free-flowing movement. She danced barefoot with her hair free flowing. In this collection we imagined what Duncan would wear if she came to India."

What's your reaction?
