Rangasamy calls on Lieutenant Governor

PUDUCHERRY: Chief minister N Rangasamy called on Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh at Raj Nivas on Monday evening in the backdrop of strong demand by opposition parties for  dropping Education Minister PNL Kalyanasundaram from council of ministers.Both the AIADMK and Congress had petitioned the Lieutenant Governor for his intervention in this regard. The other opposition parties including the left sought his removal.With the controversy flaring up, the Ministry of Home affairs would have also sought clarifications from the Administrator in this regard going by the impressions of Minister of State for PMO V Narayanasamy.The Lieutenant governor is understood to have discussed the issue with Rangasamy and sought certain answers from him. So far the chief minister has maintained stoic silence in the issue, even after being provoked by political parties especially the Congress demanding a white paper on the entire controversy
