Renuka: What was Hegdes share in bribe?

MYSORE:  Referring to former lokayukta SP Madhukar Shetty’s allegation that Lokayukta office was getting mamool (bribe) from the sub-registrar’s office, Excise Minister M P Renukacharya on Monday sought to know from former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde about his percentage of share in it. Addressing a press meet here, he said, “I request Hegde  to come out with the truth.” He asked whether Hedge had taken any action against the corrupt officials in the Lokayukta. He charged Lokayukta officials of blackmailing the contractors to fleece money from them. Alleging that Hedge has never been vocal against former prime minister H D Deve Gowda’s family as he is against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, he said that the former justice is under the fear that H D Kumaraswamy may make public of his alleged lavish night life. “Why is Hegde not speaking against Gowda despite he reportedly threatening IPS officer Goankar? Was there any mutual understanding?” he asked.  The minister said that Hegde was never interested in alleviating corruption or uphold the sanctity of the watchdog and all that he did was to get publicity. “If he is interested in politics, he should contest elections,” the minister said.
