HYDERABAD: Task Force police arrested a man here on Saturday for illegally possessing three Indian passports.According to the police, the Task Force, on a tip-off, apprehended Mohammed Ali Khan who secured three Indian Passports illegally by submitting fake documents.Khan, born and brought up in the city, is a resident of CIB Quarters at Kachiguda and runs Cafe Khaiber on Golnaka Road. In 1998 the accused obtained Indian Passport No.A 5392173 in the name of ‘Mohammed Ali Khan’ and attended an interview at the US Consulate in Chennai in 2003 for a visa, but was denied the visa by the consulate.He obtained another Indian Passport No. E 8385473 in the name of ‘Khan Agha Mohammed Ali’ in 2004 by presenting fake documents, and attended interviews at the US consulates in Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai in 2004 and 2005 but his applications for visa were rejected again. Undeterred, he obtained another Indian Passport No. F 8300703 in 2006 by applying in the name of `Agha Mohammed Ali Khan’ and attended an interview at the US Consulate in Hyderabad in 2011, and was denied visa again.As the accused secured three Indian Passports from the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad by presenting fictitious documents, an offence under the Passports Act, 1964, the accused was taken into custody and the passports seized from him.
