New Delhi: In the latest development in Rizwanur Rehman death case, former Kolkata Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee was examined by the CBI on Tuesday.
Mukherjee was examined at his South Kolkata office. The examination lasted for around an hour.
Earlier, a fresh eyewitness claimed he saw Rizwanur being kidnapped from a cinema hall in Central Kolkata.
Indranil Ghosh made this revelation to a private Bengali news channel on Saturday. He claimed that he had earlier written an anonymous letter to the CBI about the incident.
However the veracity of his claims have not been confirmed yet by the investigating agency.
Rizwanur was found dead under mysterious circumstances on September 21, after he married Priyanka Todi, the daughter of an influential businessman.
The city police had come under fire after allegations that some top police officers had put pressure on him on behalf of the Todi family.
The CBI has made quite headway into the case, after it took over investigation last month. Several people including Priyanka, her father and brother have been questioned so far.
