THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government will sanction Rs 10 lakh to set up infrastructure facilities for the benefit of the Sabarimala pilgrims arriving at the Sree Padmanabhaswami temple, Transport and Devaswom Minister V S Sivakumar said here on Thursday. He was speaking after inaugurating the arrangements for the pilgrims made at the Attukal temple. The Minister congratulated the officials, police and the authorities of the Attukal Temple Trust for arranging the facilities in time.Mayor K Chandrika, Councillor Udayalakshmi, ADM Muhammed Mustafa, Tahasildar M K Sreedharan Nair and Attukal Temple Trust president M Radhakrishnan attended the function. 200 police personnel have been deployed for the safety of pilgrims and crowd control, the Minister said. Parking facilities: Parking facilities have been arranged at the Attukal temple ground, World Market Ground, Homoeo College ground and Eanchakkal. The KSRTC has started shuttle services from the Thekke Theruvu near Sree Padmanabhaswami temple to the Attukal parking ground. The service is available from 2 a.m. Drinking water has been made available on the Attukal temple premises, Fort Garage and Theerthapada Mandapam. Five water tanks have been set up at the Attukal ground. 25 mobile toilets have been made available at the Attukal. Street lights have been set up at the temple surroundings. Control rooms have been set up at the Thekke Theruvu, east nada and Attukal. Multi-lingual signboards have been installed. Strict measures are being taken to ensure fair prices at hotels, the Minister said.
