Unknown gunmen on Thursday looted Rs 11 lakh from the branch office of a private finance company in Nawada police station area in Bihar's Bhojpur district, a police officer said.

Unknown gunmen on Thursday looted Rs 11 lakh from the branch office of a private finance company in Nawada police station area in Bihar's Bhojpur district, a police officer said.

"About six armed men barged into the branch office of Mahindra Finance Company at KG Road and looted Rs eight lakh from the chest and another Rs three lakh from customers after wounding a security guard by hitting him with the butt of a pistol," Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vikas Kumar said.

The criminals escaped by motocycles with the booty and a laptop of the finance company's manager, he said. A case has been registered in this connection and a search operation launched to nab the criminals, Kumar said. The injured security guard has been admitted to a hospital for treatment, ASP said.
